Great hotel! Great service!
by aerotect
We come from Los Angeles to Duluth 3 or 4 times a year for business and we always look forward to the next time. The service that we get at the Inn on Lake Superior is second to none.
Everyone that works there is fantastic. Our suites are always beautiful and the beds are so comfortable! We really enjoy the smores at the campfire in the evenings. There are alot of wonderful restaurants in the Canal Park area and watching the huge ships go under the bridge is really something to see.
A cosmopolitan gateway to northwoods wilderness.

In Short
On the westernmost shore of Lake Superior, Duluth offers breathtaking views. Lighthouses, marine museums, shipwreck lore and the gracious, haunted Glensheen mansion give these rocky shores a romantic aura. Historic Canal Park has distinctive shopping and dining. Museums, historic sites and international cuisine give Duluth its urban energy. The Superior Hiking Trail, the Munger Trail and Spirit Mountain lure adventurers, while bird watchers flock to Hawk Ridge to watch raptors migrate.
Inside Duluth

We had a great time exploring; MN point, Wisconsin point, Seven Bridges Road, Hawk Ridge. Canal Park was crowded so we stayed away. THe mall was huge!
- Pros: free activities, exploring, nice mall
A must see!

Duluth is a wonderful getaway for those looking to experience the beatuy of Lake Superior, the romance of old lighthouses, northern minnesota's immense history and of course the weather! There is a plether of things to experience year round and you are guarenteed to be treated well while visiting the north shore. Anyone who leaves here disappointed is crazy! I highly recommend Duluth at must see for all.
- Pros: Friendly, clean, variety
- Cons: parking
Highlights of Duluth
by jcaubs
I used to live in Duluth, and let me tell you that I keep in in mind greatly. There are many wonderful things to do in the area including the trip up the North Shore to see the leaves change, and the beauty of Canal Park and the rose gardens in the summer. It is definately a place that you must visit if you haven't been there before. The lift bridge is wonderful for those of you who haven't seen anything like it before. The lakeshore is beautiful no matter what time of day you take it in.
- Pros: restaurants, attractions
My Home Away from Home
by linsblues
The thrill starts as you come around the curve on 35 and see Lake Superior, the beautiful bridges and the city spred out for miles, it literally takes your breath away. I like to walk along the lake from Bayfront Park all the way to Lief Erickson Park, take in the rose gardens, then stop at Fitzgers for lunch and shopping. Canal Park is great for food, shopping, museums, boat rides and ships arriving. The Bayfront Blues Festival is one of the ten best in the country. I could go on and on!
- Pros: a short trip, something for everyon, never boaring
- Cons: hotel prices in summe, winter driving, having to go home
A Superior Place to go
by kallidad
What a treat, whether we're visiting friends or just sightseeing. Duluth is a treasure for weekenders. It's so close to the cities yet completely different. Majestic is the word that comes to mind. There's no way one can drive over the hill and view the greatest of the great lakes without feeling like it was made by something greater than man. It's just not available elsewhere. We just love going to Duluth, try it for a day or a weekend.

We're not in Kansas anymore
by TerryfromKansas
I drive 600 miles to spend a weekend in Duluth. It's romantic, entertaining, easy to get around and relatively cheap! Hotels are great and scenary is breathtaking in any season. I think I'm the unofficial Dultuth tourism respresentaitive in Kansas. I know I've had at least 25 friends/couples take the trip!
- Pros: scenary, sounds, culture
- Cons: smells, drunks, icy hills
