Uninspired food at ridiculous prices!!!. Ate at the 308 Lake Ave store on 6/18/2009 so its been 4 months since or experience. Was so pumped up to eat at what looked like a very nice place. Asked some passers-bye if they ever ate there. There were visitors from SD, CA and said it was expensive but good. We figured SD's would know something about ethnic? We were very wrong.

Friend had the volcano or something? A $22+ plate. Consisted of what must have been pre boiled shrimp, not many, and not big. Not cooked in with any sauce or flavor or anything. Should have been about $10 to $12 and even less for the pathetic attempt at flavor.

Other friend had some chicken red curry. It was good. Possibly the best of all, but still nothing amazing. Simply good.

Triple Delight @ $12 was OK. Kids had it and I ate some. Good. Not great app plate.

Shrimp Phad Tahi @ $14 was pathetic. Basically top roman with a packet of seasoning thrown on top, pre cooked shrimp with no flavor. An extremely lame meal.

I Chicken Basil @ $14 and it was OK. Nothing great flavor wise. Basil was not a significant part of the plate as it is at other thai restaurants. Boring.

Extra Chicken Prik King @ $14 was OK. Good vegetables. Boring flavors.

In all, the meal was horrible in relation to the prices. I would have paid $5 for these and probably still never have come back.

They apparently do not cook ANY of the protiens in with ANY of the sauces or flavorings at all. The shrimp comes out looking like it was freshly boiled or more likely defrosted. The chicken never tasted like its accompanying sauces, flavors, etc. Not that big of a deal since none of that flavors were significant or memorable in any way.

And who just puts seasoning on top of noodles in hot water with shrimp and calls it a meal and charges $14 for it?

avoid. I admit there may be some particular conditions that contributed to my experience-- I ordered delivery; it was raining; I am from NYC where quality thaifood abounds; I have traveled extensively in Thailand; it was my first order from Thai Krathong, and first Duluth-Thai experience-- however, I found the food to be inauthentic and overall, unenjoyable. The spring rolls were similar to american-chinese style eggrolls- unlike the thin crispy shell and filling of any other thai springroll I have tasted. The drunken noodle (ordered based on the rec of another web-reviewer) was nothing more than linguine with vegetables with far too much chili sauce dumped on top.

I never post unfortunate reviews, but alas, I also didn't end up eating my intended dinner tonight... so I hope you excuse my crankiness.

Amazing!. Our dinner at Thai Krathong was incredibly delicious from start to finish!

The peanut sauce that accompanied the salad rolls was terrific. The druken noodles had a perfect balance between flavor and spiciness. The mango on the mango and sticky rice was perfectly ripe and melted in your mouth however the coconut sauce was not as sweet as we've had at other restaurants maybe it is a regional distinction.

If you are in Duluth and love Thai food you definitely don't want to miss this restaurant. We have eaten Thai in many cities and this is definitely one of the best!

Real food in Duluth. I find it hard to believe that you would have to come this far from any big metropolital area to find real Thai cuisine. But, Duluth you've got it. The best Thai food I've eaten in a long time.
