NEXT Candidate for Kitchen Nightmares. Our waitress and service were excellent. Perhaps in the summer sitting on the patio, my experience may have been different, but, I was there on Saturday March 19, 2011 at about 1400 and I was not pleased. In fact, I rarely complain, (I lived on M.R.E's for 10 months, I’m very humble) but I need to let people know that this place, I was NOT happy!! The table/booth were sticky, the silverware was filthy, the Coke products were watered down, chips cold, salsa bland (Cilantro and un-ripened tomato's), the queso, was burned and had a layer of plastic cheese product on top of it. The chimichanga was room temperature inside and BARELY fried, rice/beans had definitely been sitting under a heat lamp probably since they opened, or maybe they were yesterdays, regardless they were aesthetically very unpleasing and tasted bland, in fact the best part about this cantina was leaving. 1 beer, 1 soda 2 entrees 1 appetizer - $39, best of luck to you Angies Cantina....

Tex-Mex? more like BEST-Mex!. I recently had the opportunity to take a trip up the North Shore with my partner for the weekend. While on a stroll around Canal Park, we stumbled upon Little Angie's Cantina and Grill. Being a Mexican food enthusiast I was skeptical at first, but the deck was packed so we decided it couldn't be too bad if it was that busy...

We started with a margartita (Hawaiian and Tropical) and chips and salsa (wonderful fresh pico de gallo they have btw) and between that and the sunny sunny deck, from there on we knew we'd be happy! For lunch I got the Mahi Enchiladas, and my partner got the Shrimp and Veggie Fajita...AMAZING. The garlic cream sauce on the Mahi was delish and the portions of shrimp were pleasantly surprising. Didn't have room for dessert but the fried icecream looked great...

Prime location, friendly staff, and wonderful food. Great experience all in all. We will be back again.

Nasty! Tex-Mex??? more like Mexweigian. We stayed at the Inn on Lake Superior (Great Place) for our anniversary. Across the street was Little Angies, figured it couldn’t be too bad for convenient lunch spot. Boy were we wrong! The fresh salsa looked like mush, the chips were soggy and stale. We waited forever to get served. When the food came out it was terrible and cold.

The only bright spot of the experience was some private poking fun of the staff. Everyone from the hostess to the servers had blond hair and blue eyes. Now I don’t know about you, but when I eat Mexican I expect someone of Hispanic decent serving me the food. If not serving the food, at least the chef should be Hispanic. We devised a plan to get a view of the cooks in the kitchen and sure enough, inside was Sven and his Nordic pals. Even the neon sign up front is like a lighthouse blinking STAY AWAY… STAY AWAY… Don’t order Mexican food from a blonde named Angie… she should stick too lutefisk and other tasteless meals.

Yuck!. The Cheese Dip tasted aweful. Very over seasoned, and I am a smoker with shot taste buds. The Mahi Enchiladas had no taste. I was told they would be rich. No where near rich. No flavor, but they same heavy seasoning that was in the dip. I gave it 2 stars for the Margaritas and atmosphere. Come for the Margaritas, but eat before you come.

Best Happy Hour and Best Deck in town!!!. 1/2 price drinks 3-6 Monday-Friday in Canal Park, best kept secret bottles of beer are $2, can't beat that! Also they don't believe in crappy booze like Karkov!

Smirnoff, bacardi, cuervo and they are all 1/2 price 3-6. 2 bucks and change per drink! Love it! Try the chimi Changa!

Worst food I've paid for in at least last ten years. We went to Little Angie's on vacation and it was such a bad experience I have to warn anyone else looking to eat there. The food quality was poor (stale chips, soggy rice, gross meats) and we spent $31 for two people. You would be much better off getting take out Taco Bell and finding a nice park to eat at than going to Little Angie's.

As for the positive reviews I've seen listed here, the only explanation we have is that the people were drunk before they received their food or Little Angie's has just recently went downhill. Also, we didn't drink so I can't say if this is a bad place for a margarita, but I can say the food is horrible.

To sum it up, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!

Great Tex-Mex. I would first like to say that I strongly disagree with the last review. I have been to Little Angie's several times and have never had a bad experience. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. The prices I would say are pretty reasonable considering if you would try to go to the grocerie store and buy all of the ingredents and make the items yourself and you know that everything is made to order...where at other meican restaurants I would have to question that. I also think that they have the best margaritas in town were else can you find such a HUGE selection of tequilas and flavors to put into your marg? So in other words I would suggest to all who read this that you go try it for yourself! Oh also, in the summer it is the best place to sit outside and just enjoy a good meal and great atmosphere!

Overpriced average food. You can get such better food at better prices at Hacienda del Sol or Maya. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!

Best place in town. My husband and I go to Little Angie's often. We are from New Mexico and this place has the best tex mex food you will ever find. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. The food excellent and their new summer margarita menu has so many great choices, it is hard to pick only one. We recommend that you try a couple anyways. The deck dining is the best in town. Right in the heart of Canl Park. When in town, go, you will not be disappointed!!!

Great food, location, and service. The black bean tacos rule! We went in on a very crowded night, and had appetizers and drinks at the bar, and the best tacos we have ever had once we were seated. The staff was quick, professional, and very helpful. We will be back
