great place for a romantic dinner.
we have had the pleasure of a great dinner several
times here, consistently great each time. wait staff very
knowledgeable and friendly, ambience is great, very relaxing. looking forward to next visit.
Average Italian. Dined here a few wks ago and ordered fettucine alfredo, was dissapointed in it's lack of flavor. No hint of garlic whatsoever. The Olive Garden chain was suprisingly better. Bland italian equals bad italian. Bonus was decor and romantic atmosphere.
Fine Italian food served in a warm and inviting space..
The Scene
Curling, hockey and freshwater fishing take place within steps of this small, windowless, harborside building. But once you're inside, you'd never know. Golden walls, tables decked in white linen and floor-to-ceiling wine racks radiate a sunny Italian vibe, while a pass through to the kitchen provides glimpses of hard-working toque-topped chefs. In these elegant surroundings, you're greeted with smiles and treated with care.
The Food
Cooked-to-perfection pasta dominates the menu, but fish and chicken star too. A chewy gnocchi with a spinach sauce arrives looking a little too-bright green, but its taste and texture would pass any Italian mama's test. So would rigatoni alla bolognese (al dente pasta with a hearty, meaty red sauce). The Tuscan chicken sandwich is spiced just-right and served on focaccia, and daily specials, like salmon, are usually worthy choices. A lengthy wine lists adds to the meal.
Bellisio rating. It is a great place to do what ever you want, dine, sit in the bar, in the summer, sit out in the patio. This resturant is great from, the food to the wine and other bar selections this is a great place to have some fun. The only problem that I really had was to be seated, you need reservations, there is always lots of people there. One of the good things about the wait, is that, you can visit the bar area and take in more of the great belleisio's enviroment. Even though the food is on the more expensive side, you pay for what you get, great athentic tasting Italian cuisine. The food is worth the price.
Good spot for Duluth. I was visiting Duluth over the weekend, and found this restaurant to be great spot to have a romantic dinner at. Not really knowing any other place in the area that would be good for "date" type restaurant (took my girlfriend) we made a reservation here. By comparison to the Italian places in the Twin Cities (Biaggi's, Campiello's, Buca's, Macaroni Grill, Etc.) area it was slightly below their level of food quality and appearance (nothing special I thought). Wine list was really good, almost too extensive and over-whelming. Service was excellent the night that we went, which was about 8p on Sat. night. Overall nice job Bellisio's!
wounderful. I have been coming to this restaurtant for 4years,and it has been great every time. the food, the service ,the wine, everthing is always good.
No better in Twin Ports. The food is excellent. The best wine list in town. excellent presentation and the service was exceptional.
