The Most original General Chicken and more....
I work in downtown Duluth, and pound for pound you won't find food this good at this price anywhere in town. Their General Chicken is spicy, cubed breast and thigh meat in a delightfully original hoisin sauce blend with plenty of kick if you ask your server politely. Mike serves day shifts most of the time and I have to say it seems like the man has an extra arm when you never run out of beverage, or he just decides to pour you a pitcher if you drink through your water as fast as I do :) Best deal in town? Enough chicken fried rice to feed me two or three times for 4 bucks...good luck beating that!
I offer as many thumbs up as my family can muster. Do not miss visiting this quaint little restaurant in downtown Duluth. My only cons are that they do not deliver, and that their bathroom is downstairs in an old downtown Duluth building so it can be cumbersome for folks who don't move around the greatest.
Rated *Excellent* for over 20 years!. The Cantonese House is hands down one of the many extraordinary restaurants in Duluth. Friends, members of my family and I have been going to this same location for over 20 years. The menu has a little bit of everything from your expected Cantonese dish served with superb hot tea to deep fried shrimp, grilled cheese sandwiches and hot beef. Not to mention everything is very affordable and the quantity of food is always plentiful. In addition, the unique décor, soft lighting and sense of establishment are everything that makes for a great evening. The egg rolls, pork fried rice and ham egg foo young are all family favorites among aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. I highly recommend the Cantonese House. Order a side of french fries with house gravy sauce and be sure to ask for the house hot mustard with your egg rolls. ENJOY!
TERRIBLE!. The pineapple chicken had no pineapple in it, it was just a bunch of GREASY chicken ball. The szechwan chicken had no spice at all and tasted like bland chicken noodle soup. They charged us dinner prices at lunch time (for the same quantities). And when we called to complain they said they wouldn't fix the pineapple chicken and that all they could do was give us a credit. Who wants a credit to somewhere they never want to eat again?? All in all we spent $30 on 2 lunches and had to throw most of it away because we couldn't even force it down. Would rate it a ZERO if the software would let me.
Excellent Service. Another excellent restraunt. Very good location and the owners are very nice. Highly recommend travelers whom want a very good meal. Love their Cream Cheese Wantons and Orange Chicken.
