Overpriced, undercooked food, poor service, rude managers, just a glorified Pizza Hut if you ask me....
Had a little trouble parking (it is in the rear of the building) and was shocked to find no wait on a Saturday evening for us. We were seated in a booth and enjoyed the televisions; however, the positive aspects end there.
It took us almost five minutes for a server to get our beverages and took another five minutes plus just to get soda's. We ordered a specialty deep dish pizza and it arrived about twenty minutes later; however, when the server began dishing the first slices out, the pizza fell apart from the end almost halfway up the slice. Turns out the pizza was not cooked properly. The server returned and asked us how the pizza was and we told her and she said it would take another twenty minutes to have another pizza done or they could try to recook the one we had. We cut our losses and just did with what we had. About five minutes later, a manager "Sheri" came to the table and offered to buy us a free dessert because our pizza was undercooked. I kind of gave her a puzzled look and said, don't worry about it. She then goes, "Well, I tried." and walked away.
In all, I doubt if I would return.
Hearty pizzas, an extensive beer selection and sports on TVs make this a casual hangout for large groups..
In Short
This neighborly pizza-and-subs restaurant is a sports lovers' haven, with its plasma TVs, numerous beer signs and Chicago sports team paraphernalia. But the casual, tavern-like vibe also draws groups of professionals, families and couples who sit in overstuffed booths to enjoy steaming deep dish. As the night goes on, younger crowds mingle while enjoying a selection of over 110 beers.
Great food!. This old Chicago has very very good food! It is one of the best! I reccommend the pizza and their calzones. The service can be kind of slow, but the food cannot be beat!
